Setting Up Your Pricebook
A well-organized pricebook is the foundation of fast, accurate estimates.
What is a Pricebook?
Your pricebook is a library of all your services with predefined prices. Instead of calculating prices from scratch, you select items from your pricebook.
Accessing Your Pricebook
- Go to Settings → Pricebook
- You'll see your services organized by category
Adding Categories
- Click "Add Category"
- Enter a name (e.g., "Plumbing Repairs", "Electrical", "HVAC")
- Optionally set a default markup for the category
- Click "Save"
Adding Services
- Navigate to the category
- Click "Add Service"
- Fill in the details:
- Name: Service name (e.g., "Toilet Replacement")
- Description: What's included
- Base Price: Your flat rate price
- Cost: Your cost (for profit tracking)
- Unit: Each, hour, sq ft, etc.
- Click "Save"
Importing Services
Have a spreadsheet of services? Import them:
- Go to Settings → Pricebook → Import
- Download our CSV template
- Fill in your services
- Upload the file
- Review and confirm
Pro Tips
- Start with your top 20 services - You don't need everything on day one
- Include labor in your prices - Flat rates are easier than time + materials
- Review quarterly - Update prices as costs change
- Use descriptive names - "Standard Water Heater Install (50 gal)" is better than "WH Install"
